Isaiah 42:1-9 CONTEXT

Isaiah chapter 42 begins with the first song of the servant of the Lord; in verse 10 begins a hymn of victory ("Sing to ADONAI a new song! Let his praise be sung from the ends of the earth by those sailing the sea and by everything in it, by the coastlands and those living there"): in verse 18 ("Listen, you deaf! Look, you blind! - so that you will see!") begins an accusation against Israel that has become like a blind and deaf man.
