Quia benedicti eius hereditabunt terram, maledicti autem eius exterminabuntur.

Commento biblico esegetico

Analisi del contesto

Il Salmo 37 è un poema sapienziale che contrappone la sorte dei giusti a quella degli empi. Il versetto 22 si trova nella seconda parte del salmo, che si concentra sulla benedizione divina e la prosperità dei giusti.

Significato del testo

La prima parte del versetto, "Chi è benedetto da Dio possederà la terra", afferma che la benedizione divina porta alla prosperità materiale, inclusa la proprietà della terra. La terra era vista come un simbolo di sicurezza, stabilità e abbondanza.

La seconda parte del versetto, "ma chi è maledetto sarà sterminato", sottolinea la conseguenza opposta per chi è maledetto da Dio. La maledizione divina comporta la rovina e la distruzione.

Esegesi

L'uso del verbo "possedere" nella prima parte del versetto implica un dominio sulla terra, non solo una semplice proprietà. Questo dominio è visto come un dono di Dio ai giusti.

La parola "sterminato" nella seconda parte del versetto è tradotta da diverse parole ebraiche in diversi testi biblici. In questo caso, la parola ebraica usata è "charam", che significa "mettere al bando" o "de-vitare". Indica una completa separazione da Dio e dalla sua benedizione che è vita eterna.

Conclusione

Il versetto "Chi è benedetto da Dio possederà la terra, ma chi è maledetto sarà sterminato" è un invito a vivere una vita di fede e obbedienza a Dio, con la promessa di ricevere la sua benedizione e prosperità.
